FRUIT & FIG RECIPES

Over the years, we have gathered many wonderful fruit recipes, especially those using fresh and dried figs - our favorite fruit.  We've had them on our website when we were running the nursery and will attempt to post them again on this "retirement" site for our many fruit gardening friends, old and new.   Obviously, the most healthy thing you can do is to grow fresh, organic fruits and vegetables... and to eat them as freshly as possible.  As many of you already know, the so-called "fresh picked" produce in your supermarkets may be, in fact, days and weeks old, having been processed and shipped from other states and other countries.    Regardless of your location, you can and should grow many of your own veggies and fruits.  Even if you feel you can't provide as much as you'd like from your own gardens, please find and support your local growers - our small farmers depend on intelligent, dedicated consumers like you.

While we are building the site, in answer to questions we've received over many seasons, below are some of the cookbooks that are on our shelves and that I've used for recipes and inspiration in our own little kitchen.  As we work to provide the best resources we can, use this as a partial list for shopping at your local booksellers, or you can order them from the links shown.  Hope this helps and that you begin/continue to have wonderful fun creating delicious foods from your own gardens!
